Lea Salonga on Aga Muhlach: Ang gwapo talaga niya!

MANILA, Philippines – Lea Salonga believes "the timing is right" for her and Aga Muhlach to do their reunion movie.

“Ang gwapo talaga niya!” exclaimed Lea, describing Aga in an interview on Wednesday. “We cannot waste that face. That face should be on film again.”

She also added that “we both want to do it [the film], and after seeing the restored version of 'Sana Maulit Muli,' how people seem to be responding to it, pakiramdam ko – I'm speaking for myself – the timing is right for us to do something.”

The Lea-Aga starrer “Sana Maulit Muli,” first released in 1995, was digitally restored and screened at the UP Diliman Cine Adarna last month.

However, she deems it timely, Lea doesn’t see the reunion film coming to life anytime soon. The internationally renowned singer is set to do the musical “Allegiance” in New York later immediately after finale of ABS-CBN's second season of "The Voice Kids."

“I'm leaving for New York in two weeks. So obviously it’s not gonna happen for a while. This film will not gonna be filmed until I get home which is mga third week of June na next year,” she explained.

Lea also pointed out that “we don't have our contracts, we don't have our scripts and we don't have our storyline.”

In a separate interview, Star Cinema managing director Malou Santos announced that the Lea-Aga reunion movie will push through on 2016.
