Daniel, James comment on back-to-back airing of their shows

MANILA, Philippines – Daniel Padilla and James Reid do not see anything wrong with the back-to-back airing of their shows “Pangako Sa’Yo” and “On The Wings of Love.”

"Pangako Sa'Yo" stars Daniel and Kathryn Bernardo. Meanwhile "On The Wings of Love," which premiered earlier this week, stars James and Nadine Lustre and airs right after "Pangako Sa'Yo" on the ABS-CBN primetime block.

Fans have been pitting the two love teams against each other since the emergence of the James and Nadine tandem in 2014. But Daniel said the back-to-back airing of their shows is not an issue for him.

“Wala ‘yon. Walang problema sa atin ‘yon,” said Daniel about the lineup of their shows, in an interview aired in “TV Patrol” on Wednesday.

“Tayo’y magkaka-network, dapat tayo’y nagtutulungan,” he added.

On the other hand, James believes that the two love teams merely have a “healthy competition.”

“I can’t say there’s no competition. I mean, siyempre back to back kami, you can’t avoid the competition but it’s healthy competition,” he explained.

He also noted that their shows are of different genres. “Pangako Sa’yo,” a remake of the ‘90s TV series, is a romantic drama while “On the Wings of Love” is a romantic comedy.

In the end, the two leading men asked their fans to support both shows.

"We hope that you will enjoy the show. It's gonna get much, much better, I swear," James said of "On The Wings of Love."
