Joyce Jimenez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Yassi Pressman on Thursday said she is happy despite being single for more than a year now after her breakup with Sef Cadayona.

The young actress-host said being single doesn't mean she haven't moved on from their breakup, and even believes that it opened a lot of career opportunities for her.

"Masaya akong maraming blessings ang dumating after no'n," she explained in an interview on Thursday. "Mas nakapag-focus pa ako sa work, dumating 'yong Diary ng Panget, Talk Back and Your Dead, dumating 'yong bagong contract ko with Viva."

"Naniniwala kasi ako na kapag isang pinto ang nagsara, may bagong pintong magbubukas," she added.

Late last year, Yassi signed another 10 years with Viva. She said she signed a long-running contract with Viva because it really takes care of its talents. "May career path talaga silang pinaplano," she said.

One of her current projects is "Wattpad Presents: Fiance Since Birth" with Vin Abrenica, which will air on Monday.

Her first single "Hush" featuring Nadine Lustre has also been released, and she'll soon start filming her movie with Andre Paras which may be shown in cinemas by August.

Yassi said she also enyoys being a freelance artist after having several program contracts with GMA for the longest time.

"Thankful din naman ako sa GMA," she replied when asked about doing projects with other networks. "Doon ko nalaman na sobrang mahal ko pala ang pagsasayaw. Actually bago ako mag-GMA, hindi ko alam na kaya ko pala 'yong mga ginagawa ko doon."

For now, there are no plans yet of signing any network contracts but she's open to review offers from different networks.
