Lupita Nyong'o's $150K Oscars dress with 6,000 natural pearls stolen

MANILA, Philippines – Who would not draw an interest on a couture dress with 6,000 natural Akoya white pearls?

Lupita Nyong'o's Oscars dress has been stolen from her luxury hotel in West Hollywood, Wednesday. The Kenyan actress attended the Academy Awards last week looking like a pearl perfection with her ivory custom-made Calvin Klein dress and Nicholas Kirkwood Casati pumps featuring a white Swarovski over-sized pearl platform and 135mm heel.  She rounded out her divine look with Chopard diamond drop earrings and three Chopard diamond rings as a homage to musician Prince.

Reports say that the white custom-made Calvin Klein dress by Francisco Costa dress amounts to a shocking  $150,000.

Nyong’o was named as People’s Magazine’s most beautiful person last year and also was tagged as last year’s Academy Award’s best supporting actress for "Twelve Years a Slave."

According to a report in BBC, one of Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives said the dress appeared to be stolen on Wednesday evening and officers were checking CCTV footage.

As of the moment, no arrests have been made yet.
