Derek Ramsay: My son called me dad

MANILA, Philippines- Derek Ramsay is happy that his relationship with his son is slowly getting better.

His son and his former partner Mary Christine Jolly are back in Dubai for his son's schooling, which he said is under the British Education System.

“It's a slow process, but in the short time I spent with him he called me dad, so it was a nice feeling,” he said about his relationship with his son, in an interview on Tuesday.

“But there's a lot of things we had to work at, it's not the perfect situation, it's not the situation that I want. Yet at least now may opportunity ako na maayos 'yon.”

Derek's relationship with his own father serves as his inspiration to be a better father to his son. “We're living in different countries, but that's the situation that I am in, I just have to work harder.

“Kilala ninyo ako, when it comes to family it's the most important thing for me. That's why I was so emotional through all of these, and that's why I fought hard to fix this.”

On the other hand, the Kapatid TV host-actor's relationship with Jolly remains civil. “I can't say we are best friends, but we're doing what is best for my son,” Derek said.
