Paolo leads MCA Music’s Awit winners

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - MCA Music artists went home triumphant at the recently concluded Awit Awards with Paolo Onesa (photo) bagging two awards, taking with him Best Performance by A Male Recording Artist and Best Performance by A New Male Recording Artist both for the song Lucky In Love. The song was included in Paolo’s debut album Pop Goes Standards and was a bonus track of The Voice of the Philippines The Final 4 album, released by MCA Music.

“This is such a blessing for me. I never expected to win considering the caliber of this year’s nominees,” said the Zamboangueño.

Paolo is a mainstay of the ABS-CBN show Singing Bee and managed by MCA Music and Star Magic. He will release his new single off his album this month.

Other winners were To Survive by Franco — Best Rock/Alternative Recording; Taldawa by Edward and Abe Pakakalale by Andy Alviz — Best Regional Recording; and Urbandub’s Never Will I Forget (Eric Perlas and Macoy Manuel) — Best Engineered Recording.
