Gloc-9, 1:43 join Coco Fest show in SM San Pablo

MANILA, Philippines - Gloc-9 and 1:43 (photo) will perform in a show celebrating the annual Coconut Festival of San Pablo City today.

Presented by socialized housing development BellaVita Land Corp., the free concert will be held at the mall atrium of SM City San Pablo. The show will start at 3 p.m.

Gloc-9 is the rapper and composer behind the hit songs Lando, Upuan, Sirena and Magda. He is promoting his latest album Byahe ng Pangarap under Universal Records.

Meanwhile, 1:43 is composed of Anjo Ressurreccion, Gold Aquino, Argee Golding and Yuki Sakamoto. The Original Pilipino Music (OPM) boy band is the act behind the monster hit song and fifth Star Awards for Music Song of the Year Sa Isang Sulyap Mo as well as popular songs Ang Saya-Saya and Hayop Sa Ganda. 1:43 was named as the Most Promising Group at the 45th Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Award.

“We are excited to come back to SM City San Pablo and celebrate the Coco Festival with the city’s residents,” says 1:43’s spokesperson Resurreccion.

Started in 1996, the Coconut Festival, also known as Coco Fest, is a week-long celebration in San Pablo City in honor of its patron Saint Paul the Hermit. It is held every first to second week of January and consists of street dancing, float parade, street concerts, nightly programs before the city fiesta and some other important events like the yearly Mutya at Lakan ng San Pablo.
