Vice Ganda mourns death of grandfather

MANILA, Philippines - Despite another opening day box office success, Vice Ganda's Christmas this year would not be as merry as he mourns the demise of his grandfather.

On a Twitter post on Thursday, Vice said his grandfather is "gone" after suffering for weeks in the hospital due to an undisclosed ailment.

The comedian even thought that "he made sure I was number 1 before he left," referring to the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival box office results.

His film entry "The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin" so far is leading in the box office race.
