Snubs & surprises at Golden Globes

The Philippine Star

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Golden Globe nominations always have their quirks, and sometimes it seems they exist in their own private galaxy. Take a closer look at this year’s snubs and surprises at the Globe nominations below:

Pride, a story about British gay activists, received a nod for Best Picture, Musical or Comedy. Unbroken of Angelina Jolie was not nominated. Timothy Spall (Mr. Turner) and Marion Cotillard (Two Days One, Night, The Immigrant) did not snag a nod. Interstellar is only nominated for Hans Zimmer’s score. American Sniper, directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Bradley Cooper didn’t make it to the list. Quvenzhane Wallis, on the other hand, scored a Best Actress nod in the Musical or Comedy category for Annie, joining a slew of veterans like Julianne Moore, Helen Mirren, Amy Adams and Emily Blunt.
