Darren Espanto signs up with MCA Music

MANILA, Philippines - He has been called “The Total Performer” during his stint in the ABS-CBN contest The Voice Kids and has been likened to top artists in the country like Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera. Though he may not have won the title, ending up as runner-up, many opportunities still opened up for the talented kid Darren Espanto.

One of them is being part of the record label MCA Music (Universal Music Philippines) where he recently signed a record and management deal. Present during the contract signing were (from left) MCA Music artist manager Sammy Samaniego, senior OPM label manager Neil Gregorio, Darren, president Ricky Ilacad, OPM marketing manager Mark Bonifacio and publishing manager Evelyn Seale.

Darren joins the MCA Music’s growing OPM artists roster which includes Sitti, Nyoy Volante, Sabrina, Mitoy Yonting, Pupil, Klarisse de Guzman and Urbandub. MCA Music is also home to the biggest international recording artists like Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Lorde, Eminem, Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Robin Thicke, Sting, Demi Lovato, Zedd and Selina Gomez.

He has released his self-titled debut album and is now available in record stores nationwide.

 Darren recently performed in The Voice Kids All In Concert at the PICC Plenary Hall. He was featured alongside The Voice Kids winner Lyca Gairanod and finalists Juan Karlos Labajo and Darlene Vibares with special guests The Voice of the Philippines Season 1 grand champion Mitoy, runner-up Klarisse and The Voice Kids semi-finalists TonTon Cabiles and Edray Teodoro.
