Here Lies Love winner at awards in London; Bwaya wins in Tokyo

MANILA, Philippines -  Top: Mark Bautista and Natalie Mendoza proudly display the trophy for Beyond Theatre Award for Here Lies Love, the rock/disco musical currently playing at the National Theatre in which they play the lead roles as former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos and former First Lady Imelda Marcos. The 60th Evening Standard Theatre Awards were given out Sunday night, with Tom Hiddleston (shown above, at left, with Mark and Nicholas Hynter) leading the honorees.

The event, co-hosted by Evening Standard owner Evgeny Lebedev, editor-in-chief of American Vogue Anna Wintour and Burberry chief creative and CEO Christopher Bailey, was attended by a star-studded guests list including Benedict Cumberbatch and Helen Mirren who honored Hiddleston with one of the highest accolades for his role as Coriolanus.

Meanwhile, Bwaya (Crocodile) directed by Francis Xavier Pasion (below, second from left) won the Grand Prize at the 15th Tokyo FILMEX on Saturday, Nov. 29, at ceremonies in Yurakucho Asian Hall in Japan. The film bested eight other films for the honor with, 700,000 yen (roughly P265,000) as cash prize.
