Patricia Javier: I'm back for good!

Joyce Jimenez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Ten years may have passed, but Patricia Javier's beauty still lingers.

Patricia is now back for good, after she willingly left her career here in the Philippines in 2004 and moved to the U.S. with her husband Dr. Robert Walcher.

“I left for love,” Patricia said in an interview with Philstar.com on Tuesday. “Nag-asawa ako. I just focused on my family sa States to... you know, have kids.”

Patricia said she lived a normal life in the U.S. since she didn't get the perks of being a celebrity. She said transitioning to a family life and being a mother to two handsome sons were not also hard for her.

“Hindi naman gano'n kalaki kasi ako naman laki ako sa hirap, e,” she replied when asked if it was a big adjustment for her moving to the U.S. "Hindi naman kami mayaman so sa akin lang ibang environment 'to. Pero madali ko siya na-embrace kasi madali in a way na maganda 'yong life there."

She said also had to help her husband make a living so she worked as an aesthetician in a dermatology clinic. She also did a disc jockeying job, which she said she did for her love of music.

Patricia said that although they're living a good life in the US, she convinced her husband to return to the Philippines because she wanted to make a comeback in the show business industry.

“This time is a good timing kasi he just sold his business. So nang narinig ko 'yon sabi ko sa kanya, 'Anyway your business is more online, you can go anywhere, why don't we try Philippines?' and luckily he agreed," Patricia said.

Luck seems to be on Patricia's side as the Viva Artist Agency offered to manage her career again upon hearing her return to the country. She signed a three-year contract with the group.

Meanwhile, the actress/singer said she would like to avoid doing sexy films upon her return to show business.

“Siguro this time [gusto ko] mas mabida 'yong acting side ng mga movies na ibibigay sa akin,” she said. “So hindi ako magiging mapili. I want to be a versatile na actress, na kahit ano kaya mo gawin. Kung anong opportunity na dumating, I'll take it.”

Patricia promised her fans that they would see a “more mature mind, positive, and I think more on sharing what I am to the public, keep it real parang gano'n. Then the project na puwede nating ipagmalaki ba, na talagang masasayahan sila na makita 'yon.”
