Bacao to grace int’l filmfests
MANILA, Philippines - The Michelle Madrigal starrer, Bacao, produced by Oro De Siete and directed by Edgardo Boy Vinarao, goes abroad including Berlin, Cannes, Hong Kong and Venice.
The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) headed by chairman Briccio Santos announces that Bacao is among the local films to be promoted in several international film markets starting in February next year.
Bacao is also set to be showcased in several filmfests in Europe, Southeast Asia and the US. The thriller was rated R-16 and Graded B by the Cinema Evaluation Board.
The controversial sex film was one of the four entries in the recently-concluded Horror Plus Film Festival. Bacao previously placed second in the FDCP scriptwriting contest.
Musical scoring of Bacao is superb plus the theme song, Bugtong ng Bahay, essaying the reality of life, and hope in the end, was composed and arranged by Dr. Mon del Rosario, who also sang the ballad.
Other stars of Bacao are Arnold Reyes, Alvin Anson, Leo Martinez, Marife Necesito, Menggie Cobarrubias and Irma Adlawan.
