GRR TNT features APHCA Olympics
MANILA, Philippines - Every November, the Asia Pacific Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association (APHCA) holds a Hair and Make-up Olympics participated in by delegates from 17 member countries. This year’s venue is Bangkok, Thailand.
The association was founded by beauty guru Ricky Reyes 20 years ago. He has been its president for two decades now.
The Philippine delegates have what it takes to win in different categories such as men’s cut, freestyle, color and bridal make-up. In the past competition, Jason Hinola from Cavite City was named over-all champion in men’s cut and freestyle, while Federico Stephanie Ilagan got second place in the bridal make-up division.
Jason and Federico said that they do not miss any APHCA Olympics. “It’s a chance to learn techniques of other hairdressers who are globally accredited,” says Jason.
The 18th APHCA event will be featured on the GMA News TV lifestyle show Gandang Ricky Reyes Todo Na Toh (GRR TNT), which airs today at 9 a.m.
