Yam Concepcion now comfortable doing kontrabida roles

Joyce Jimenez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines- Yam Concepcion is now comfortable to do kontrabida roles, thanks to ABS-CBN primetime drama series “Pure Love.”

After five months of portraying the role of Kayla, Yam has learned a lot from her directors and co-stars. “Dapat alam mo 'yong atake, kung saan galing at saan papunta, 'yong mga gano'n. Kasi dati hindi ko 'yon alam, maski 'yong objective ng character mo in a certain routine, even the dialogue itself hindi siya dapat monotonous, 'yong gano'n," she said.

“Not only technical but also being true to your character and just being... pure honesty lang ng character mo,” she added.

Now that the series will end on November 14, there's no definite plan yet of what she will do next. Although there are plans to include her in a film.

“We'll see if it's gonna push through,” she said about her possible project. “But for now, I'm hoping that we'll make the most of the last two weeks that we have.”

Yam was also part of the film “Moron 5.2: The Transformation,” where she played the role of Luiz Manzano's wife. It was her second time to do a comedy, and both are under director Wenn de Ramas.

She was thankful with her leading man Luis, saying, “Of all the leading men na nakatrabaho ko, I think si Luis 'yong pinakamaalaga, na sobrang aalagaan ka talaga.”

Meanwhile, when it comes to her personal life, Yam is still loveless and is still waiting for Mr. Right.

When asked what she's looking for with her future partner she replied, “sati marami akong [hinahanap], e. Pero I realized now na siguro kung sino ang compatible sa akin, who will love me for who I am, 'yon ang gusto ko. 'Yong marespeto sa tao, marespeto sa babae, sa pamilya, God-fearing, 'yon.”
