Jericho Rosales on how 'tsimis' affects people's lives

 MANILA, Philippines- Jericho Rosales admits that gossip or in Filipino "tsismis" affects him.

The Kapamilya actor said that celebrity or not, gossips can affect someone's life in many ways.

Just like his character in the film "Red," where he portrays the main character: an underground Bacolod fixer, who is the go-to guy of big personalities who needs have their names cleared.

The film is part of the 10th Cinema One Original's, a film festival for local independent films.

The film, together with other entries, will be screened  starting November 9 until November 18 at the Fairview Terraces, Glorietta, Trinoma, and Greenhills Dolby Atmos Theater.

In an interview on Thursday, Jericho shared his thoughts about gossip and how he learned to deal with it.

Q: Tell us about your character.
Jericho: May pagka-bad boy, pero hindi, good-hearted character 'yan si Red. Story kasi siya ng isang legendary underground Bacolod fixer. Ang fixer is 'yong nag-aayos ng mga problem ng mga politiko, ganyan. 

So ang problema niya is na-frame up siya sa sarili niyang mga kliyente and now ang dapat niyang gawin is ibenta lahat ng mayro'n siya, umalis siya sa Bacolod to save the love of his life. 

So it's an action-love story na medyo komplikado. Parang ang message niya is may mga bagay na hindi kayang ayusin, and it's also about kuwento na pakikinggan ka ng tao kung sinasabi mo ang totoo o hindi.

Q: As a celebrity, how can you relate sa tsismis?
Jericho: Well siguro hindi lang siguro celebrities. Maraming tao talaga ang nabibiktima ng mga kuwentokuwento, e, ng mga mali-maling kuwento 'di ba? 

Dito sa story namin, ginamit siya ni Milton para gawin siyang legendary, bumuo siya ng istorya ni Red based on real events. May nangyayaring ganyan, e. 

Of course as a person, hindi lang bilang artista, apektado ako ng ganyang mga balita sa akin. Even sa loob lang ng bahay mo, sa family mo like, 'sinabi ni ganito, ganyan. Ay hindi!' 

Q: After doing this film, what did you learn in handling these situations?
Jericho: May kasabihan tayo, the truth shall set you free. So always, God gives me peace and relaks lang ako. In the end naman, if you know kung ano totoo sa sarili mo, you should not worry.
