Jake Cuenca wins first acting award in New York

MANILA, Philippines- Jake Cuenca bagged the Best Actor Feature award at the 2014 International Film Festival Manhattan in New York for the independent film “Mulat.”

The film’s director Diane Ventura, meanwhile, won the Best Director for Global Feature award.

“This is an amazing thing. You express something that you really believe in. Regardless of the fact that it makes money, regardless of the fact that people watch it,” Jake said in his acceptance speech, which he posted in his Instagram account.

The Kapamilya actor also expressed his joy through his Twitter account.

Never won best actor in the Philippines. But certainly felt sweet winning it here in the states.
