Papa Jack, Chacha first recipients of Ka-Padi’s Award

MANILA, Philippines - John Gemperle, popularly known as Papa Jack of 90.7 Love Radio and Czarina Marie Balba (a.k.a. DJ Chacha, right) were named first recipients of Padi’s Point Ka-Padi’s Award. Papa Jack received his award from Padi’s Point marketing manager Paulo dela Cruz (left photo) as a surprise on his birthday at Padi’s Point-San Lazaro.

Also recently awarded Male DJ of the Year by Yahoo OMG Awards, Papa Jack has been doing gigs at Padi’s Point branches for five years now.

DJ Chacha was likewise chosen Female DJ of the Year for MOR 101.9 by the Yahoo Awards, Isko’t Iska’s Broadcast Choice at UP-Los Baños’ Gandingan, Best FM DJ at the 12th Gawad Tanglaw and Top Choice Award at Quality Brands Philippines.

“I’m surprised winning the award,” said Papa Jack as his family and friends cheered him right on. “I’m so happy.”

In her official Facebook account, DJ Chacha posted this message: “Salamat Padi’s Point family para sa sorpresa. Ibang klase. Nakakataba ng puso.” And on her Twitter account, this message: Never-ending surprise! Thanks to my #padispoint family.”

Papa Jack will make the rounds of Padi’s Point branches on the following dates: Marikina, today; Pasay on Oct. 12; Biñan, Laguna, Oct. 18; Las Piñas, Oct. 19; Olongapo, Oct. 25; Bacoor, Cavite, Oct. 26; Las Piñas, Nov. 2; San Lazaro, Nov. 8; Tomas Morato, Nov. 9; Metro East, Nov. 15; Remedios, Nov. 16; South Station, Nov. 22; Fairview, Nov. 23; Biñan, Laguna, Nov. 29; and Novaliches, Nov. 30.
