More lady drivers for JAM
MANILA, Philippines - As Sandra Bullock proved in the popular movie Speed, lady drivers can be just as quick-witted and fast-thinking as men. They are more cautious and careful.
Thus, JAM Liner announces the TESDA training given to seven female bus captains and the upgrading of skills of eight bus attendants.
The JAM Liner graduates were Amelia Coronel, Lea Laririt, Jane Limsipson, Ilyn Montalban, Karla Nina Ortiz, Rubie Pacardo, Bernadette Torres, Lowe Atienza, Christian Barbo, Armin Caraecle, Florencio de Castro, John Lagsit, Efren Leparto, Rowel Lopina and Melacio Razon.
The program featured both common and core competencies in vehicle preparation, maintenance checks, driving protocols according to Land Transportation Office (LTO) standards, as well as emergency measures and exercises. The course was divided into actual driving training and exams (written and oral).
The Lady Bus Captain Scholarship (also inspired by the MMDA-TESDA Lady Driver Program) had as project head Jasmine Rose Riosa and was in partnership with the TESDA Provincial Office (Laguna) with the Philippine National Driving Academy as training facilitator.
