Karylle’s present status: Happy
MANILA, Philippines - Karylle is being complimented for her natural glow and effortless beauty nowadays. People attribute this to her blissful marriage with Sponge Cola frontman Yael Yuzon.
“Married life is so much fun,” says the It’s Showtime host during her press launch as the first celebrity endorser of STATUS Salon held last Sept. 10. “I get to wake up beside somebody. We clean the house, and we write new songs together.”
Karylle adds that since both of them are not expert cooks, they both learn how to cook together, which she considers a lot of fun.
“It is so hard kasi if may isa sa amin na magaling na mag-luto,” admits Karylle. “Pero since, hindi kami pareho magaling, natututo kami together. Pag pumalpak, OK lang. Tawa lang.”
Karylle also shared how Yael inspires her to continue writing songs, “kasi talagang maski nasaan siya, nakakagawa siya ng song. Nakaka-inspire. I wrote a song for our anniversary.”
Aside from currently promoting her K album under PolyEast, Karylle is already preparing for new album, set to be released early next year. She just recently appeared in the 45th-anniversary show of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), where she reprised her Sita role from the musical Rama Hari and performed the iconic song Magbalik Ka Na Mahal.
“But before that new album, we are scheduled to do a number of shows for K muna,” she clarifies. “I will try to tour the whole country for my album. We’ve been to several spots in Manila, then Cebu, General Santos, basta whole Philippines.”
Needless to say, Karylle and Yael share a special chemistry — with their music, and their own sense of humor.
“My friends always tell me that when they spend time with Yael, it becomes apparent why we click,” expresses Karylle. “So, I guess I am thankful for that.”
Karylle also describes Yael as a sweet guy because he appreciates her, along with the good and the bad.
Even though she married a sweet and appreciative guy, Karylle vowed to always take care of herself.
“Years ago, I am not that kikay,” states K. “Now that I am married, I realized that it is also fun to look good for yourself, and for your husband. That’s why I decided to eat healthier. I am also thankful to STATUS Salon because they can expertly take care of my hair.”
Asked why STATUS Salon chose Karylle to be its first celebrity endorser, owners Robina and Rose Ann Ko highlighted Karylle’s apparent beauty, wholesome, yet trendy image and positive persona as the main reasons why the Kitchen Musical star was handpicked.
True to form, Karylle is evasive when asked to comment about the engagement of Marian Rivera to her former boyfriend Dingdong Dantes. She explains, “Ako kasi wala na ako sa eksenang iyon, so ayoko na rin sumingit. Ang ganda-ganda ng kasal e. Weddings are wonderful kaya everyone deserves a wonderful wedding.”
On the question about the recent controversy involving co-host and friend Billy Crawford, Karylle chooses to express her love for the singer-TV host, “Billy has been my friend ever since sa kabila pa ako and ang masasabi ko mahal na mahal ko yang kaibigan kong yan and mabait siyang tao. Minsan talaga sa buhay may pinagdadaanan tayo. Ano lang, mahirap lang talaga minsan. Si Billy kasi friend ko na siya way, way back sa kabila pa kami.”
In conclusion, Karylle wishes everyone to have a “happy” status.
