Japanese performers grace Best of Animé 2014

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -  For the fifth year, the Best of Animé brings the culture, art and entertainment of Japan to Filipinos.

On Sept. 20 and 21 at Function Rooms 3 & 4 of the SMX Convention Center, the event will be filled with fun activities that otakus and con-goers will love.

Joe Inoue will be the main highlight of this year’s animé affair as he performs his hit songs and host the event.

Visual kei band Heidi will regale the Filipino in a concert set on Sept. 21, with well-loved songs such as Yokan and Loop used as ending songs for the animé Kaichou wa Maid Sama!

Japanese pop idol group Starmarie will perform at the event with its new members.

International cosplayers to join Best of Animé are Thailand-based cosplayer Onnies, and Singapore-based blogger/cosplayer Kaika. They will judge the BoA Inter-school Cosplay Competition and All-Star Cosplay Competition, and will conduct workshops and a meet-and-greet session.

The Best of Animé is part of the biggest book fair in the country, The Manila International Book Fair (MIBF), slated on Sept. 17 to 21. Another event taking place is the first-ever DigiTech Manila Conference and Expo, set on Sept. 19 to 20. For details, call 896-0661 or 896-0682, or e-mail at [email protected].
