Christine, Gelli: Edu a welcome addition to 'Face The People'

Joyce Jimenez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines- Gelli de Belen and Christine Bersola-Babao said Edu Manzano is a welcome addition to their show "Face the People."

"Binabalanse niya kasi," Gelli said in an interview Wednesday. "Minsan kami ni Tin-Tin nagta-tag team kami, e. So may opinion ng lalaki, may point of view ng lalaki, nakakabalanse."

Christine agreed with Gelli, adding that, "Kapag kasi ang guest, e, nambabae, siya lang 'yong puwedeng magsabi na, 'pare, ito bilang lalaki…' Kasi pareho silang lalaki, e."

Meanwhile, aside from a new host, the show also has a new segment called "Happy Change."

"Pinapakita namin na may solusyon ang problema," Christine said explaining the segment."Hindi lang sila basta pinapayuhan ng aming Konsensya ng Bayan, pero tinutupad namin ang munti nilang pangarap sa buhay."

Yet, there are times when the budget of the show is not enough to provide help to the guest. This is when the hosts chip in a little help, especially if they're moved with the guest's story.

"Minsan kasi hindi maiiwasan," Gelli said. "Kasi ang Face the People, we can only do so much, kasi ang staff we want to help, but we have our limitations, we have certain budgets to adhere to. But sometimes makikita mong kailangan ng immediate help, usually kapag hindi kaya ng show ilalapit sa Alagang Kapatid. So minsan hindi naiiwasan makapagbigay, pero minsan lang 'yon."

"Face the People" is one of the longest-running shows of TV5, since they launched. It has undergone certain changes in format and hosts.

"We want to show na every problem has a solution," Gelli said.
