Annasandra on GMA in Oct.

MANILA, Philippines - GMA Network has been the home of remarkable traditional drama with fantasy such as Alakdana, Kokak, Kakambal ni Eliana and Pyra Babaeng Apoy that captured the hearts of viewers.

In October, GMA satisfies every woman’s desire to be appreciated through a new drama that combines romance and fantasy: Ang Lihim ni Annasandra. It mystifyingly narrates a woman’s quest to be loved for who she truly is and be allowed to keep her secrets, as a way to appreciate her person and past.

The original drama series is topbilled by Kapuso leading lady Andrea Torres as Annasandra with Mikael Daez as William and Pancho Magno as Enrico as co-stars. Meanwhile, playing the main villainess in the story is Rochelle Pangilinan as Esmeralda, the “awok” who cursed Annasandra. Also joining them is Arthur Solinap who plays the role of Kenneth, the doctor best friend of William.

Glydel Mercado, who received numerous acting awards for her role in the 1999 movie Sidhi, breathes life to the character of Belinda Vergara. She is the simple and loving mother of Annasandra. She will keep Annasandra’s curse a secret to protect her daughter and the people around her.

Versatile actor Emilio Garcia portrays Carlos Vergara. He is the loving father of Annasandra and husband of Belinda. Carlos accidentally killed Esmeralda’s child thus the reason why Annasandra was cursed. He will do anything to solve the mystery behind her daughter’s curse. In 2008, Emilio was hailed Best Actor at the 49th Thessaloniki International Film Festival for his role in the movie Selda.

Seasoned actress and Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 1982 Ma. Isabel Lopez portrays the role of Rosario, an “awok” and the mother of Esmeralda. She is against Esmeralda’s curse to Annasandra but cannot do anything about it because Esmeralda is full of hatred towards Annasandra. Ma. Isabel is also a Gawad Tanglaw, Golden Screen and Gawad Genio award recipient.

Best Supporting Actress (Directors Showcase category) in the recently concluded 2014 Cinemalaya and renowned theater artist Cris Villonco as Lorraine Armada will play as the third party in the romance of Annasandra and William. Lorraine is a beautiful and sophisticated woman and also the image model of Hazel’s surgicenter. She will do anything just to get William’s attention.

Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 1985 title-holder Joyce Burton dabbles into acting as she plays the role of Hazel Benitez, the socialite mother of William. Hazel owns a surgicenter where Annasandra works. She is against William and Annasandra’s relationship.
