PBB housemates fight in Amaia challenge

MANILA, Philippines - Success is sweet when it is hard-earned and fun at the same time. Known for its unique challenges and tasks, Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) All-In’s May 23 episode featured Big Brother assigning the housemates a special task courtesy of the reality show’s new partner, Amaia.

The housemates were divided into three five-member teams named after three of Amaia’s developments — Team Amaia Scapes composed of celebrity housemates; Team Amaia Skies with the teen housemates; and Team Amaia Steps featuring the regular housemates. Dubbed as Kaya ko na Karera, in keeping with Amaia Land’s tagline, the obstacle course saw the housemates compete against each other intensely and determined without losing the spirit of fun and that lighthearted vibe.

Exhibiting camaraderie, sportsmanship and team effort, team members displayed the idea behind the Kaya ko na battle cry. While performing the challenge, the housemates were made to utter key words and phrases like “malapit sa lahat,” “de-kalidad,” “napakadali,” “may dating,” and “paangat ang buhay” that are the qualities, features and ideals that Amaia embodies.

The fastest team to perform the challenge — Team Amaia Steps that clocked in at 52 seconds — won electronic gift certificate worth P45,000 from Ayala Malls.

Efforts may fall short but as an old saying goes, it is how the challenge was carried out that truly matters. From gathering a bunch of people from different age groups with clashing personalities and backgrounds, the best traits of Pinoys shine through: Hard work, resilience, perseverance and eagerness to embrace new challenges. These are the traits that make up the guaranteed formula for success.
