Japeth’s secret to good health

MANILA, Philippines - Gilas player Japeth Aguilar (photo) is considered as one of the top young players in the PBA today with Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

In his one-season stint with the Gin Kings, Japeth has been providing a lot of energy to his team with his powerful alley-oop dunks and his turnaround jumpers.

The energy was also evident in Japeth when he played a major role in Gilas Pilipinas finishing second in the FIBA Asia Championships held in Manila last year that earned for the nationals a ticket to the FIBA World Cup in Spain this month.

“My dad (Peter Aguilar) taught me how to play the sport when I was in Grade 5,” Japeth admits. “And when I saw him play in the PBA, I knew that I wanted to be like him.”
