Mark Bautista: 'I'll put love on hold'

Joyce Jimenez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines- "Strike while the iron is hot," is the saying that Mark Bautista is keeping in mind  these days.

A new door opened for Mark as he was chosen to be part of the West End musical "Here Lies Love," with its music co-written by Fatboy Slim.

"'Yong ganitong opportunity, minsan lang 'to," he said when philSTAR.com and other media outfits asked him on Thursday, if his lovelife will have to take the backseat for now.

He added  that "kailangan ko mag-focus dito, kasi puwede akong huminto, mag-asawa anytime na gusto ko. Pero ito minsan lang dumating 'to."

In a previous interview, the Kapuso singer-actor admitted that he's "inspired" because of a girl he first saw on TV.

"Kasi marami akong nami-meet dito. Nang may ime-meet na ako, bigla naman ako paalis," he said laughing. "So na-excite ako and at the same time kinakabahan ako kung ano pa puwedeng mangyari sa akin."

Yet he's happy that he was able to meet the commercial model in person, though he clarified that they haven't gone on a date.

They met during the shoot of his new music video, which he plans to release before flying out of the country.

Meanwhile, Mark says he's not closing his doors to the possibility of meeting a girl there in London. "Malay mo European pala mahanap ko!" he said laughing.

Mark will be leaving for London on August 16 for the musical rehearsals and boot camp to prepare for the theatrical run of "Here Lies Love", which will be staged from  September to January 8, 2015.
