Ver Paulino - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid visited Batangas City last July 24 to participate in this year’s celebration of the Sublian Festival.

The Sarap Diva host, who has been touring the regions for a series of Kapuso Fans Day, could not help but be overwhelmed by the warm recep- tion shown by the Kapuso Batangueños and solid Regine fans who flocked the Batangas City Coli- seum just to see her.

“I have time for my child, my husband, my

family and my career. Perfect! Ang tagal kong nag-trabaho siguro naman kailangan ko ring mag-slow down para maalagaan at maasikaso ang anak namin at ang asawa ko,” Regine told the press before the show.

Batangueños also welcomed Dading stars Glaiza de Castro and Benjamin Alves, and Bubble Gang mainstay RJ Padilla. The crowd was doubly ecstatic when the stars performed in production numbers.

Glaiza thanked the fans who continuously tune in to their afternoon show, Dading, since its pilot episode. She too, mingled with the crowd during her song-and-dance numbers.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank our supporters sa kanilang pagtanggap sa show. Sulit naman ang pinaghihirapan namin dahil sa good feWeedlcobmaeck ng televiewers, kasi dito iyak ako ng Riiyhankn,a kthaekaiba sa previous roles ko.”

The The GMA Regional TV, headed by Oliver Amoroso, in cooperation with Mayor Eduardo Dimacuha, also mounted a Sing and look ala songbird contest during the festival. The contestants performed in the opening number together with Regine impersonator Ate Redge. Boobay and Ate Redge hosted the event.
