MANILA, Philippines - She felt like a princess, meeting the prince for the first time.
Gwendolyn “Gwen” Pang, the secretary general of the Philippine Red Cross, went to England for a seminar and meeting. And there she personally met the famous and controversial Prince Charles who struck a conversation with her.
“He asked about the vic- tims and survivors of Yolanda. ThTeheRdivoayal Family extended help to us and is planning to visit our country to see those affected by the typhoon,” Gwen shared.
Before the end of their short meet- ing, Prince Charles asked Gwen what perfume she is wearing and assured her that on her next visit to London, the doors of the palace are open to her and will provide whatever she needs.
Gwen admitted that she has not had any boyfriend...by choice.
“Yes, I never had a boyfriend, as I grew up in the church,” said Gwen a.k.a. Red Lady who has been involved with the organization for the last 15 years.
Gwen added that she finds it fun to be single and free from complications.
She also denied being a lesbian, say- ing that having no boyfriend does not mean she is a homosexual, rather, is a decision she just made.
“Is my being single synonymous to be- ing a tomboy? I don’t have anything against lesbians, but I am not one,” clarified Gwen, who is a registered nurse by profession.
Gwen even hinted that she has a crush on a showbiz personality.
Gwen is open to enter show business, as long as she can use it to promote her advocacies.
“I never dreamed of being an actress because I believe I do not have an acting talent,” Gwen said with a laugh. “I do not even know if I can be one because I have difficulty pretending. I am good at portraying my real self. But, if the role is good and I have the time, why not?”
The Red Lady has had offers to do commercials and to host on TV. It is just that her hands are quite full with her duties and advocacies. But given the chance, she is willing to appear on TV or movies “as long as I can inspire and educate the public.”
