TV5 unveils unified ‘one-brand’ news programs
MANILA, Philippines - News5, TV5’s news and information arm, is set to officially launch its unified “one-brand” news programs all throughout the day starting tomorrow.
Dubbed as Ang Bagong Puwersa sa Pagbabalita. Handang Tumugon, Anumang Oras, Anumang Panahon, the new campaign will be first introduced via TV5’s brand-new morning news program, Aksyon sa Umaga (weekdays at 5 a.m.) with News5 Everywhere head Martin Andanar, Lourd de Veyra and Grace Lee, all joining forces anew as the show’s main anchors. Now on a more competitive and earlier two-hour timeslot, Aksyon sa Umaga delivers the most relevant news of the day, culminating with an intriguing segment, where the main anchors engage in a discussion over critical issues, called Men vs. Women.
When the clock strikes at 12 noon, Aksyon sa Tanghali takes the spotlight with Cherie Mercado and Raffy Tulfo coming together to deliver developing stories and the most important follow-up reports. Attorney Mel Sta. Maria and Edinel Calvario are segment hosts for May ‘K’ Ka and Healing Galing, respectively.
News5’s flagship weeknight newscast Aksyon (at 6 p.m.) welcomes News5 head Luchi Cruz-Valdes at the helm of the program, together with Erwin Tulfo. Rounding up TV5’s fortified primetime news program is new segment host Chiqui Roa-Puno — now delivering the latest in the world of sports via Aksyon Sports — who joins hosts Lourd de Veyra for Weather or Not and MJ Marfori for Celebrity Aksyon.
And, News5 wraps up the day’s top headlines via Aksyon Tonite (at 10 p.m.) with the tandem of Paolo Bediones and Cheryl Cosim also delivering exclusive follow-up stories on the metro and the nation.
Meanwhile, on deck to report for the segments of Aksyon Tonite are Shawn Yao for Presinto5, Jove Francisco, Aksyon sa Pulitika and Lia Cruz, Aksyon Weather.
