Rachel’s encore show in Salon de Ning
MANILA, Philippines - Catch Rachel Alejandro in the final leg of her successful concert series at The Peninsula Hotel Manila’s Salon de Ning tomorrow, July 19 at 9 p.m.
Simply titled Rachel at Salon de Ning, the series kicked off last May and had a much-talked-about repeat last June. The concert features Rachel in her very best element as set to reprise her impressive repertoire which includes the greatest hits of her awesome 25 years in the industry as culled from her impressive catalogue of full-length studio album such as Nakapagtataka, Kay Tagal and Don’t Know What To Do, Don’t Know What To Say, among many others, as well as a selection of some of today’s hottest chart-toppers, homegrown favorites and party anthems.
Rachel is also set to perform live a sampling of some of her most-beloved Broadway tunes such as songs from Rock Of Ages, which she starred in in its Philippine run.
Some of the highlights of her previous performances that showcased her versatility as an artist were her knockout duet with cousin Nino Alejandro where they performed rock and alternative classics and her impromptu production number with Dingdong Avanzado, where they worked the crowd to a standing ovation in their stirring duet of Paalam Na, which they co-wrote with each other back in the ’90s.
Rachel’s series of shows in Salon de Ning is a primer of sorts that will pave the way to her big anniversary concert that is set to happen by the final quarter of 2014. “It has been a wonderful journey. I can’t believe that 25 years has passed,” says Rachel. “I am so thankful for the gift of music and of course, I am also grateful to all the people who supported my career though the years. My team and I are planning for my anniversary concert. I’m ready and very excited for the next chapter of my career.”
Rachel is also gearing up for the big-screen adaptation of the hit Filipino musicale Ang Larawan, which is based on National Artist Nick Joaquin’s full-length play Portrait Of The Artist As Filipino, where she will star opposite Joanna Ampil and Tom Rodriguez. Rachel is also busy with The Sexy Chef that she owns and manages with sister Chef Barni Alejandro-Rennebeck. Their first book, The Sexy Chef Cookbook, is a national bestseller. Rachel and Barni are hosting a cooking show on cable TV on Cignal Digital TV’s Colours channel.
