Derek Ramsay insists Kris Aquino just a 'best friend'

MANILA, Philippines- Derek Ramsay on Thursday reiterated that Kris Aquino is his "best friend."

The Kapatid actor said that they've been close ever since, and they see each other despite their busy schedules.

The two were again linked after Kris posted a group photo of her with her sons, Josh and Bimby, and Derek after watching a movie.

"We went out, we watched a movie together with her family, had a few drinks but no, there's no dating na nangyayari," he clarified in an interview.

He added: "We are very vocal that we are best friends. She knows a lot of things in my life that I'm comfortable to share and likewise with her, she knows some problems that I have and she also asks me for advice."

"So her coming to me for advice shows how much she values our friendship. The advice is not only about love life, it's about different aspects in life. She definitely has been a big help to me," she said.

Derek also refused to entertain questions if their friendship could turn into something romantic.

"She's my friend and it's hard to answer questions like that. But the way I see it now, no, magkaibigan kami," he said.

The actor said he is "happily single" and admitted that he goes out on dates.

"I'm still dating, but it's hard to balance it with the things I'm handling right now. It's hard to go far than that, na hindi ko nabibigyan ng attention," he said.

Derek has been busy doing the film "Trophy Wife" where he stars with Heart Evangelista, Cristine Reyes, and John Estrada. He is also busy with the Cinemalaya 2014 entry "The Janitor" and the national auditions for TV5's "Amazing Race."

"Your job kills everything in your personal life, and that's what happening now," he said smiling. "But that's my responsibility to the network and I have to take care of that responsibility."
