Richard Yap ignores show's bashers
MANILA, Philippines — Richard Yap does not want to mind bashers who criticize the slow pace of their show “Be Careful With My Heart."
"I think mas maraming kaming natutulungan kaysa sa naaapakan," Richard said when asked to comment about the hit show's bashers in an interview Friday, July 4.
"Wala naman kaming naaapakan. So 'yong mga nagrereklamo, well, you can always turn the channel, 'di ba? We're not forcing them to watch. You can watch another show. For all those who [are] supporting us, this is what we're doing for them," he added,
The daytime series has drawn a big following, that the management has planned to produce a film adaptation last year for the Metro Manila Film Festival. This plan, however, did not push forward due to conflicting schedules of the cast.
Though saddened by the decision, the cast refused to "sacrifice" the film's quality, Richard said.
"This year medyo mahirap na rin because of the flow of the story. So mahirap na maghanap ng highlights na puwedeng palakihin. So we think [that] for the best, hindi na namin ginawa 'yong movie," he explained.
Since their show has been air for two years, the “Be Careful With My Heart” family will, for the meantime, hold a thanksgiving concert dubbed "I Heart You 2: Be Careful With My Heart Anniversary Thanksgiving" on July 25 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
"I think it's everybody's dream," he said about their upcoming concert. "Sabi nga nila kapag nasa Araneta ka na parang you've arrived. Of course we're happy to be there and we're happy to do a thanksgiving show for everybody to watch."
The concert is for free, and the tickets will be given away on July 21 and 23 at the ABS-CBN Center Road from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
