Bukas Palad sings of hope, healing in Huwag Kang Mangamba

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - St. Paul College Pasig, Tanging Yaman Foundation and Jesuit Communications Foundation present the Bukas Palad Music Ministry in a fund-raising prayer concert on July 5, 5:30 p.m. at the St. Paul College Pasig’s Bishop Frederick Z. Rooker Auditorium.

Titled Huwag Kang Mangamba, the concert intends to raise funds that will help Bukas Palad reach out and minister to communities heavily affected by last year’s natural calamities. The outreach efforts are in tandem with Tanging Yaman Foundation’s ongoing rehabilitation projects in partnership with St. Paul College Pasig. Concerts and activities aimed to bring material and spiritual relief to victims are also being planned for Tacloban, Ormoc, Bantayan Island, Sorsogon and Bohol.

The Bukas Palad Music Ministry is a community of young people who compose, record and perform original Pilipino religious music. Many of the most popular and well-loved praise songs in the Philippines were first sung and recorded by Bukas Palad. Hindi Kita Malilimutan, Tanging Yaman,  Sa ‘Yo Lamang,  Anima Christi, I Will Sing Forever and Humayo’t Ihayag are some of the songs Bukas Palad has sung and spread over its 28 years.

The concert will also feature one of Bukas Palad founders, Fr. Manoling Francisco, SJ, with Sr. Bubbles Bandojo, RC, and the Musician Friends of the Jesuits Chamber Orchestra, with the special participation of the St. Paul College Pasig High School Chorale.

The event begins with a special celebration of the Holy Mass at 4 p.m.

Tickets are P500 each and available through St. Paul College Pasig Community Relations Office c/o Marivi Zamora at 631-1835 local 210; Tanging Yaman Foundation Office at 426-5924; Tanging Yaman Stores, fifth floor SM Megamall and Ateneo de Manila Campus, 426-5971 to 72, and Bukas Palad c/o Justin at +63-917-597-5878.
