PHOTO: Netizens weigh in on Ben Affleck's Batman costume

MANILA, Philippines – Zack Synder, the director of the much-awaited sequel to “Man of Steel,” gave the world a first glimpse of Ben Affleck's Batman costume.

The photo was posted by Synder on his Twitter account with the caption, “I shot this with my @Leica_Camera M Monochrom. #Batman #Batmobile #Gotham.”

As reported last year, Affleck will join Henry Cavill in the yet to be titled Superman-Batman film, which is slated for release in May 2016.

Immediately after the photo was released, netizens weighed in on Ben Affleck's look as the Caped Crusader on social media. Just like when he was first announced as Batman for the “Man of Steel” sequel, Affleck's Batman look received flak online, with many still doubting if he's suitable to succeed Christian Bale, who last played the iconic comic book character on the big screen.

It was reported last month that the “Man of Steel” sequel will be followed by a Justice League movie, which is likely to be released by 2018.

Aside from Cavill and Affleck, it has been confirmed that Wonder Woman, to be played by Gal Gadot, will appear in the “Man of Steel” sequel. It has also been reported that theater actor Ray Fisher will play Cyborg in the film. Cyborg, a half-human, half-robot superhero is originally a member of DC Comics' superhero team Teen Titans before moving on the Justice League.
