‘Echo & Kim: Forever and ever’

Jericho Rosales and Kim Jones tied the knot in a romantic beach wedding at Shangri-La Boracay Resort and Spa last May 1. They chose the island paradise of Boracay because of their shared passion for surfing and the sea. The intimate wedding was attended by their families and close friends.

Kim was stunning in her white strapless wedding gown created by designer Vania Romoff while Echo was a picture of a happy groom waiting for his lovely bride in his Francis Libiran tan wedding suit. Kim was escorted to the altar by her brother.

The celebrity couple exchanged their wedding vows under a canopy of peach transparent cloth and garlands.

Their entourage wore pastel colors of blue, sea foam, pink and tan. The male members’ suits were adorned with lego brooches.

The principal sponsors included Gary Valenciano, Coney Reyes, Star Magic head Johnny Manahan and ABS-CBN head of TV production Laurenti Dyogi.

The theme of the wedding was very laidback. In fact, Echo and Kim had a unique idea of having a surfboard by the entrance with the message “JK 05-01-14 Their forever and ever love begins here” to welcome the guests.

It was in 2012 when Echo admitted that he was in a romantic relationship. Their love story started when they met through their common friend Denise Go, wife of Dominic Ochoa. Echo did not woo her immediately but instead they became good friends. He popped his wedding proposal to Kim on her birthday while they were at a church service in Alabang last year.

The newlyweds opted to postpone their honeymoon because Echo is currently busy with his top-rating primetime series The Legal Wife. Meanwhile, one of its episodes’ official hashtag, #TLWTheRoyalRumble, became the No. 1 trending topic in the country. All hell broke loose when Monica (Angel Locsin) found out that her best friend, Nicole (Maja Salvador), is the mistress of her husband, Adrian (Echo). They had an intense physical catfight.

In her recent guesting on Aquino & Abunda Tonight, Maja said that it took them 10 to 15 minutes to shoot the scene. “Birthday kasi ni Angel noong araw na iyon. Buong araw hindi ako nagpapakita sa kanya. Kasi sa eksena, iniiwasan ko siya. Ang tagal naming hindi nagkita. Para pag gagawin namin iyong eksena, iyong talagang galit, iyong talagang bibigay kami.”

However, Angel still approached her on the set. “Doon kami nagkita. Tapos parang hindi ko pinapansin si Angel. Eh si Angel, sabi niya, ‘Beh, saan kita sasabunutan?’Kinausap pa rin niya ako!”

Maja and Angel are grateful for the continued success of The Legal Wife. Angel disclosed in an interview with ABS-CBN News’ Ginger Conejero that they receive various messages about the primetime series. “Nakakatuwa na may mga nare-receive kaming messages kasi parang kahit paano nakakaganti na iyong mga legal wife sa mga mistress. May mga nagsasabi naman na at least naiintindihan nila iyong side ng mistress tapos iyong mga lalaki, hindi na raw manloloko. Natutuwa lang kami na may ganoong klaseng reaction kasi kung walang ganoong reaction, ibig sabihin walang nanonood, walang dating iyong story.”
