Canonization of two popes on Solar News

MANILA, Philippines - Today marks a historic moment for the Catholic Church as she canonizes Popes John XXIII and John Paul II who personify modern-day heroes.

Father Giovangiuseppe Califano, the postulator of Pope John XXIII, said that the Pope had opened new horizons for the church as he lived by his motto of obedience and peace, which is also the root of his sainthood.

Meanwhile, Pope John Paul II’s postulator Monsignor Slavomir Oder said that they’ve seen a future saint in the Pope because of his prayer habits and reflections on the value of life.

The two popes have very important legacies for the church and stand as examples of holiness for the Catholic community. They also helped shape the community to a third millennium of Christianity.

The Canonization of Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II will air live today at 3 p.m. on Solar News Channel.
