Lionel takes a jeepney back to the hotel

MANILA, Philippines - “I want to experience something that’s Manila,” Lionel Richie told Llamas brothers Glenn and Winston (far right), of Wilbros (producer of Lionel’s concert last Saturday night, April 5 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum), and he got what he wanted.

After the concert, Lionel happily hopped onto a jeepney the Llamases hired for him, sat at the back and had a quick nocturnal tour of the city going to EDSA Shangri-La where he and entourage were billeted.

“He was down-to-earth,” Glenn told Funfare, “one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met.”

It was Glenn who fetched Lionel from Jakarta where Lionel did a concert before his Manila stint.

By the way, several times during his concert, Lionel asked the audience, “When you get home, look for your album, look for your cassette tape, look for your 8-track, look for your CD…and who do you see?”, answering his own question, “Lionel Richie!”

That was probably what everybody did.
