Banda ni Kleggy rocks OPM scene

MANILA, Philippines - Stirring buzz in the OPM scene is one of the newest and hottest rock acts in town: Banda Ni Kleggy. The band is made up of vocalist Kleggy Abaya, guitarist Rye Sarmiento of 6Cyclemind, bassist Bobby Canamo of 6Cyclemind, synth player Lemuel Belaro of Callalily, drummer Bon Sundiang of Moonstar88 and seasoned guitarist Berns Cuevas.

In a word, Banda ni Kleggy is different … a good kind of different. The band has been charming audiences with irreverent tunes as heard on its debut album Only in the Philippines under Universal Records.

The lead single Discolamon enjoyed massive radio airplay and had been in the top spot of the MYX Pinoy hit charts.

MYX also honored Banda ni Kleggy in four categories in the MYX Music Awards 2014. The categories were Favorite Group, Favorite New Artist and Favorite Guest Appearance in a Music Video for Kim Chiu, who appeared in Discolamon, and Favorite Collaboration for Big Band Syndicate’s hit song Darating featuring Kleggy with Ney Dimaculangan and Dello.
