Matteo's parents think Sarah is 'very, very beautiful'

MANILA, Philippines – “We're just having a good time at the party. We're just enjoying with family and friends, that's it.”

Thus said Matteo Guidicelli about the viral photos on social media showing him with rumored girlfriend Sarah Geronimo during his birthday party in Pasig City on Friday, March 28.

Among those who shared photos of Matteo and Sarah on social media was comedian and showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz. The photo, which was posted on his Instagram account, shows the two holding hands. There were also videos of Sarah and Matteo singing John Legend's “All of Me” during the party.

Many saw this as a sign that Matteo and Sarah are ready to reveal the real status of their relationship. But the Kapamilya actor dismissed the significance of the viral photos and videos.

“Nag-enjoy lang kami nung gabing yun dahil buong pamilya ko andun, yung special friends ko at lahat-lahat. I just wanted her to have a good time and I was having a good time,” Matteo told members of the press recently.

Matteo added his parents met Sarah during his birthday party last Friday.

“My parents don't really watch her on TV. But when they saw her, they said she's very, very beautiful and they didn't expect her to be like that. I'm happy, they all like her and they feel like she's very, very beautiful,” he said.

Matteo and Sarah have remained mum on the status of their relationship despite persistent reports that they are already officially a couple since last year. In previous interviews, the actor said he wants to wait for the “right time” before saying anything about the rumored relationship.

“You know, I really don't want to lie. I don't want to say anything,” he said about the constant questions regarding his relationship with Sarah. “That's why I'm not denying anything. One day, I'll just wait for somebody to say. I don't think it has to come from me.”
