myDSL quiz holds finals

MANILA, Philippines - The PLDT myDSL Broadband Quiz Contest recently held its national finals, where teachers and students from Marikina, Davao, Cebu, Iloilo, General Santos City, Malabon and Bacolod participated.

Mary Joyce Gazo of Potrero National High School emerged winner in the teacher category, with Michael Adriano (Nangka High School in Marikina), Melanio Florino (Erico T. Nograles National High School, Davao) and Alexandra Villasor (Alaska Night High School, Cebu) were the first, second and third runners-up, respectively.

The tandem of Salvador Besares Jr. and Maveric Molina of Ramon Avanceña National High School in Iloilo, on the other hand, ruled the student category. Placing second were Tatiana Isobella Molarto and Janus Rau Cunanan of General Santos City National High School. Representatives from Tugatog National High School (Marvin Judal and Calvin Penilla) and Handumanan National High School (Alanis Mae Pandayduyan and Andrian Christian Amata) received the second and third runner-up honors.

The quiz competition is part of the PLDT InfoTeach Outreach Program, a computer-training program which provides teachers and students basic digital literacy. PLDT has partners in the University of the Philippines Open University, Intel Philippines, Philippine Community eCenter Network, office of DepEd Schools Division Superintendent and the local government units.
