Julia Barretto: No kissing scene in 'Mira Bella'

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Julia Barretto has admitted that she faces a lot of pressure in doing her launching TV series, “Mira Bella.”

Aside from starring in a first major TV project, Julia is also pressured with the fact that she's a member of the Barreto clan, where three actresses came from: Claudine, Gretchen and Marjorie.

“Siyempre po na-pressure rin in a sense na I came from a family of good actresses, the expectations are so high,” Julia admitted in an interview last Tuesday night.

“They expect na maging kasing galing ko sila agad. Pero I have my support system, my directors, my co-actors na they understand that I'm still starting and that I still have time to prove myself.”

Julia, however, said she is also determined to veer away from the shadow of her mother, Marjorie and aunties Gretchen and Claudine. The young actress believes that “slowly malalaman ko po how to make my own name sa industry.”

No kissing scene

As rumors linking her with her leading man, Enrique Gil, come out, there are expectations from fans that the love team would have a kissing scene in the teleserye.

“Bawal po,” Julia immediately replied with a laugh. “I just turned 17, wala pa po. Sila Tita Mylene [Dizon] lang po ang mayro'n and more than kissing scene.”

The young actress added that she's not in a hurry of doing mature roles.

“Hindi ko pa naman po alam anong project ko kapag 18 na ako kasi baka tweenie-tweenie pa 'yon,” she said, when asked if she'll allow kissing scenes when she turns 18.

“Ayoko ko po kasi magmadali, e. Siguro habang tweenie-tweenie pa 'yong projects doon muna ako, kasi hindi na ako makakabalik pag nagmadali ako, e.”

“Mira Bella” will start airing on Monday, March 24, at the primetime block of ABS-CBN.
