Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines – Maja Salvador chooses to remain mum on rumors claiming boyfriend Gerald Anderson’s mother does not approve of her.

Speaking to Philstar.com during a Meet and Greet event for Internet tablet Coby Kyros on Sunday, March 16, the Kapamilya actress said: “Mahal ko ang family niya (Gerald).”

Asked about the status of her relationship with Gerald, Maja said. “Okay naman, okay naman po.”

Maja’s statement came after Gerald’s mother Evangeline Opsima’s phone interview with ABS-CBN’s showbiz talk show “Buzz ng Bayan” on March 16.

In the interview, she said: “Isa ang talaga masabi ko kay Ge. I want you to be careful, son. Just be careful.”

But in an interview with ABS-CBN’s late night talk show “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” on Friday, March 14, Gerald disclaimed talks that there is a rift between Maja and her mom.

“It’s a wrong perception,” Gerald said. “They’re very okay. In fairness naman po kay Maja, she really made an effort also.”

He added, “Ganun lang yung message ng mom ko because she’s seen me through my ups and downs nung masaya ako at malungkot ako.”

‘Believe’

Maja would rather talk about her two current projects — her primetime drama “The Legal Wife” and her debut album titled “Believe.”

She admits becoming a recording artist was once just a dream for her.

Even Coby Kyros is supporting her music career. Every purchase of the new Coby Kyros 7015 includes a pre-downloaded track of Maja’s single “Dahan-dahan.” She also gave a taste of her side as a performer during the Coby Meet and Greet as she performed Jennifer Lopez's "Dance Again" to her fans.

The 25-year-old actress said she’s ready to face those who will criticize her foray in recording.

Yun yung importante,” Maja said.
