Fresher mornings in Unang Hirit

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Now on its 15th year, GMA 7’s Unang Hirit is the country’s longest-running morning show. It remains the primary news source especially during calamities and other major news events with the use of modern technology like the Digital Media News Gathering that allows its news anchors to broadcast live from where the action is anytime.

And, as Metro Manila braces itself for the so-called “Traffic Armageddon,” Unang Hirit becomes the first morning show to use the mobile application Waze to report traffic, accidents, road hazards and closures. It is the latest service provided by GMA’s IMReady public service group. The traffic reports are firsthand accounts that come fresh and fast from “Wazers” on the road.

Beginning today, Unang Hirit will have a more modern set that features a Social Media Hub where its hosts will read the most-talked-about topics on the Internet and feedback from viewers.

And to usher in the summer, Unang Hirit boasts of a new opening billboard featuring a colorful Pinoy fiesta. This summer, viewers can count on Unang Hirit to take them to worthwhile summer destinations all over the country.

Unang Hirit airs Mondays to Fridays at 5 a.m.
