IN PHOTOS: Bb. Pilipinas 2014 candidates announced

MANILA, Philippines- Who among them will earn the chance to represent the country in the beauty pageant world stage?

Wearing their swimwear, the 40 candidates of the Binibining Pilipinas 2014 introduced themselves during the pageant's press presentation on Wednesday, February 19.

From over hundred aspirants, these 40 candidates stood out in the hopes of representing the country in major international beauty pageants, particularly the Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss Supranational, and Miss Tourism contests this year.

Members of the press also had a say as they voted on who among the candidates should win the special ward of Miss Photogenic.

Former beauty queens Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup, and Precious Lara Quigaman said this batch of hopefuls will be under a lot of pressure this year, since our representatives did well in the international beauty pageant scene the previous year.

“They just have to focus and give their best shot in to everything,” Quigaman said.

Last year, Philippines took home three major beauty pageant titles: Megan Young was crowned as Miss World 2013, Ariella Arida placed third in Miss Universe 2013, Bea Rose Santiago won Miss International 2013. 

Before the coronation night happens on March 30 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, on March 6, the candidates will be part of a charity fashion show. On March 22, they be part of the Parade of Beauties.
