The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Lahing Kayumanggi, the production outfit behind the original Filipino stage musical Darling Philippines, has been conducting a voice audition through the Internet starting Jan. 30 until next month.

Darling Philippines is an original Filipino stage musical whose libretto was written by Francis Tanseco (photo) and set into music by Marites Anino. It will have an experimental mounting on May 16 at the Rizal Park Open-Air Auditorium as part of the National Parks Development Committee (NPDC) program Weeknights at Six with Tanseco and London-based Pinoy artist Ronnie del Barrio (who was a member of the Cameron MacKintosh musical Miss Saigon in London) as directors, and with repeat performances at the AFP Auditorium, Emilio Aguinaldo College auditorium and Concordia College auditorium before it will be brought to London for an international launch and world premiere next year.
