The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines- Solenn Heussaff is excited for the showing of  her film “Mumbai Love” in cinemas next week.

The Kapuso actress admits during an interview in the premier night of “Mumbai Love” Thursday night, January 16, that she is  both excited and  pressured because this is her first starring film.

“Kasi no dubbing, kasi live lahat, so I can’t fix my Tagalog accent,” she said with a laugh.

“But I’m excited, the cast is really fabulous, nag-shoot din kami ng two weeks sa Mumbai and ito ‘yong first film na Bollywood na medyo Pinoy din.”

With the two-week stay in Mumbai, India, Solenn learned to love Indian culture, speficially the street the fashion. Before joining showbiz,  Solenn was also into  fashion design.

“Ako sa fashion, we noticed na kahit sa kalye, lahat naka-saya,” she comments. “Walang naka-jeans or shorts, bawal ang shorts. First time na natakpan buong katawan ko.”

She  also  loved the different prints and accessories of Indian fashion.

Solenn said that after doing this film, she fell in love with the Indian culture. That’s why she hopes that through this film, the stereotypes that Filipinos have about Indians will be changed.

“Kasi may mga tao na may isip sila about certain cultures, just like when you’re in other countries may idea na ganyan, may stereotype. And parang may mga stereotype sa mga Indian. I hope people will become more open-minded, accept other cultures,” she said.

"Mumbai Love" will be in cinemas starting January 22.
