The 8123 Tour tonight at the Skydome
MANILA, Philippines - PULP Live World opens 2014 with the much-anticipated return of international pop-rock bands The Maine, This Century and Nick Santino and The Northern Wind together for one night only at The 8123 Tour. Tonight at 8 at the SM Skydome, feel the thrill and get on the dance floor as the entire show will be marked on film for a special international release later this year.
The Maine is not a band, it’s a hurricane. And you’re in the eye of the storm. The band’s melodic mix of genres from indie to rock should sound horrendously overdone and out-of-sync — but that’s just it: These boys don’t like to follow expectations. The Maine professes to deliver music that’s fresh and energetic. It clearly comes a long way as its fan base grew like wildfire since the band’s debut in 2007. Awards like Album of the Year, Best Song and Best Live Band have made it extremely intriguing to see what this band is all about. From touring the world to launching impressive records every year since 2010, The Maine is a force to be reckoned with.
Since its journey in 2005, This Century captivated hearts across the world with its catchy and carefree Arizonian pop-rock music. The quartet first let its sound be known with an EP titled 2007 in the year it was named after. With a promising start, This Century was instantly marked as one of the most exciting pop/rock bands to step into the scene. The band released the first full studio record with Action Theory Records titled Sound of Fire in 2011 and quickly ran up the ladder to the top. Now with its second full-length album, Biography of Heartbreak, This Century is more than ready to serenade more hearts.
As his next step forward after A Rocket To The Moon parted ways, Nick Santino took another set of wings in his solo project. With his great passion for writing close-to-the-heart music, it is indeed obvious that this young man still has a lot to express to the world. He has released two EPs Going Home and The Ones Your Meet Along the Way: A Collection of Stories from the Road, both of which are incredibly raw and tastefully executed with soft guitars and heart-wrenching lyrics. Santino says, “A lot of heart and soul went into this new project. Honesty is one of the most important things in music, in my opinion. It’s also the hardest and most rewarding thing to write.â€
