Reality Entertainment, GMA Films offer a unique ‘V’ movie fare

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - This coming February, chills and goosebumps await moviegoers as GMA Films and Reality Entertainment open the year via horror movie Basement starring GMA Artist Center talents.

The movie stars Aljur Abrenica, Chynna Ortaleza, Louise delos Reyes, Kristoffer Martin, Enzo Pineda, Sarah Lahbati, Dion Ignacio, Kevin Santos, Jan Manual, Ron Padilla, Teejay Marquez, Mona Louise Rey, Alvin Aragon, Carl Acosta, Dex Quindoza, Betong Sumaya, Ellen Adarna and Pilita Corrales.

Set in the year 2010, a group of people find themselves trapped in a basement parking lot. At the onset, some are irritated while some don’t even give a damn knowing they can easily come out the next day. But when the power shuts off and as it gets close to midnight, strange things start to happen. They soon discover that something evil lurks in the darkness as, mysteriously, their numbers dwindle and one by one people begin to disappear. Who will be able to survive the night?

Some cast members recall their creepiest experience while taping the film. Dion shares how uncomfortable he was just being in the location, “Yung location pa lang talaga nakaramdam na talaga ko ng takot.” Even Enzo can’t get over how scary the set was, “It was during a fight scene and the set was quiet and dark before we started so I felt that something was watching me from the dark.”

Meanwhile, Chynna remembers how her personal things got lost during taping, “Well, natakot ako pagpasok ko sa tent kasi biglang nawala mga gamit ko. Iniwan ko ‘yun bago mag-take na nasa pwesto ko and when I came back my things were missing. There are real monsters in this world.”

Basement is directed by Topel Lee.
