JLC works his magic

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Kaisahang Buhay Foundation (KBF), together with Magic Crackers and its endorser John Lloyd Cruz, gathered 80 kids and teens under their care for a one-day Christmas celebration at their community’s covered courts. The program included fun games, exciting raffles and delicious food. Guests delighted in a Yuletide spread that included food brands like Big Boy Hotdog, Uncle John’s Chicken from Ministop, El Real Spaghetti, Jack ’n Jill Choco Knots, Jack ’n Jill Chippy, C2 Cool and Clean, and Magic Crackers.

Everyone got a wonderful Christmas surprise when John Lloyd walked in and joined the fun. “Super fun and a dream come true,” says KBF community development officer Marinelle Lorenzo. “Kami po ay natutuwa sa pagbisita ng URC sa amin at hindi po naman akalain na dadating si John Lloyd para bumisita ngayon.” Filling in the role of co-host and game marshal, the celebrity heartthrob thrilled the crowd as he played along with the teens and gave away special prizes.

Christine Irish Merjal, one of the winners, just came from Tacloban and expressed how grateful she was to be granted something special just in time for the holidays. “For some of them, you know, it was their first time to join in this kind of activity that’s why I’m very happy for them,” says Marinelle, who on behalf of KBF received a cash donation of P50,000 from Magic Crackers.
