Vina: It's hard to be a working, single mom

MANILA, Philippines- Vina Morales admits that is not easy to be a single and working mother.

“Nahihirapan talaga ako kasi siyempre single mom ako, e,” Vina admits in a recent interview. “Wala naman akong partner na really nakatutok sa anak ko.”

But then, she’s thankful to her family for looking over her daughter Ceana.

Vina said that there are times that she could not bond with her daughter because of her very hectic schedule.

To at least make up for the lost times and work while being with her daughter, Vina said she takes her daughter to the set of her latest tele-serye "Maria Mercedes."

“Kaya kumuha na lang talaga ako ng van,” she relates. “At least hindi siya dito sa tent kasi maingay yung bata. So kumuha na ako ng van for her para manonood siya ng TV, hihiga-higa siya dun para komportable naman ang anak ko.”

She said that when her daughter is at the tele-serye's set, Ceana would refuse to watch the shoots.

“siya rin mismo ayaw niya manood!” she aid with a laugh.

She said that her daughter could be trying to avoid seeing her cry or sad as she portrays her role in the series.

“Pero I always explain to her, nasasanay din siya kasi minsan sinasama ko siya sa set. Kapag iyakan na ganun, ‘oh, mommy is only acting ha?’ or kapag medyo galit ako, ‘oh, anak, that’s not mommy ha? Mommy’s only acting.’ I just have to explain to her.”

Another actress in the family?

At her early age, Vina said her daughter does not show any interests in acting.

“Wala siya yung enthusiasm na, ‘mommy I want to be an actress, I want to be a singer,’ wala, e,” she said.

Though she’s proud to share that Ceana is a good singer. “Mukhang mataas ang boses ng anak ko.”

Just like any other celebrity mothers, Vina said that she would like her daughter to finish  her studies first before she enters the entertainment business.

“At a young age, parang hindi ko ma-imagine kasi alam ko kung gaano kahirap,” she said when asked about the possibility of her daughter being a child actress.
